Data download and API

All our datasets and files can be downloaded via the download buttons on the metadata page. If you want to use data from our server in your own software or applications, you can access it using the API, in respect to the licensing description.

Metadata API (Application Programming Interface)

The base URL for the API is: https://data.aeronomie.be/api/3

The API provides a RESTful interface, returning data in JSON format and is is provided by the CKAN software. More documentation and details can be found in the full API guide. The metadata API obviously offers all the metadata and also some internal stored files, according to their sizes.

Bigger datasets

Some bigger datasets and files are provided by an internal BIRA-IASB API. You will find the specific documentation in the metadata of those datasets.

API limits

Please use common sense when using the API, and cache results wherever possible. We reserve the right to suspend API access if you continuously make multiple calls per second.
